Breaking it down

Week #5
Do you remember where I left off? A quick review: I began by putting the areas in my life into categories and creating an acronym for them. (I chose re-search) Then I selected basic principles that I wanted to use once I started creating the small steps and found an acronymn for that as well (BASIC). I also wanted to come up with what I thought my part was in order to make the experiment a success. Another acronym (PART) and finally, I pulled my plan into one statement. ‘ I will plan small steps looking at my Re-search, applying the basic principles and doing my part’.
It’s time now to go back to my eight categories (RESEARCH) and take them one at a time, and break them down into the specific areas that I might want to work on.
Here’s two examples from my 8 categories:
R- Relationships (I think about all the different relationships I may want to create a small goal for)
1. Husband
2. Children
3. Sisters
4. Extended family members
5. Mother
6. Husband’s family
7. Friends
8. Business
H-Health- (I think I’d like to divide this category into two subcategories: Body and Mind)
A. Body
1. Appearance
2. Food
3. Exercise
4. Vitamins
5. Check-ups
6. Vital stats
7. Rest
B. Mind
1. Memory
2. Learning new things
3. Critical thinking
I’ll continue to break down each of my 8 categories. I may choose to come back later and add to these lists. ( For your information, it doesn’t mean I’m going to have a goal in each of the areas; it just helps me break it down.)
Don’t let this part overwhelm you …just take it one small step at a time. Remember, I promised to do my PART when creating the steps. P- Plan purposefully. You’ll see next week how breaking down our vision will help us move on in our journey to great results…at least that’s my plan!
